There's more to explore of the Truckee River than the urban section that flows through downtown Reno. The river snakes 140 miles from the northwest side of Lake Tahoe at Tahoe City and empties into Pyramid Lake.
The National Automobile Collection opened in November 1989 in a sleek, modern structure built and designed specifically for the museum. The 105,000-sqaure-foot facility is located along the Truckee River in downtown Reno.
